Task_3-The_Right-to-Die-ZhilinaKsenia

Hi! I'm glad to see you on my blog!
I find the theme of this class very unusual. This topic is one of on which we shouldn't remain silent, because life and death always go hand in hand. We are used to think that death is something distant, beyond our control and self-evident. However and unfortunately, some people have so hard life that they see the only way out in death. Is it right or wrong? The article from The Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/sep/13/nearly-two-out-of-five-women-who-commit-suicide-are-indian) about female suicide in India made me think about it.

According to the information and statistics from this publication, the rate of Indian women who die by suicide now represents 36.6% of global female suicide deaths. What are the reasons for such horrible indications? Of course, the public health crisis which implies early marriage and motherhood, oppression of patriarchy, domestic violence and low social status. In my opinion, it is terrible that in our modern world of equality and tolerance in some places still exist such injustice forcing on premature death. Definitely, the Goverment should think about this situation and change it. Nevertheless, the root of the problem is too deep. It is about history and culture.

Have you ever faced the problem of domestic violence?
Do you think that suicide is the only way in such case?
How is it possible to solve the problem of female suicide in India?
Do you know examples of the countires of patriarchal culture where such symptoms were overcome?

Here are some words and expressions I find usefull for you:
Symptoms of a deeply entrenched patriarchal culture - симптомы глубоко укоренившейся патриархальной культуры
The burdens of youth motherhood - бремя раннего материнства
Exposure to domestic violence - подверженность домашнему насилию
Fear of stigma - страх перед клеймом позора

Thanks for reading! Looking forward to know your opinion.
