Hello everyone!
I've read an article by Jonathan Jones about an unusual installation(here is a link
www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2018/oct/02/the-mask-of-youth-review-mat-collishaws-spooky-audience-with-the-virgin-queen).These week in the Oueen's House ,Greenwich Mat Collishaw, the former Young British ArtisT (Sp), created a hyperrealistic mask of the queen Elizabeth I.
This instalation can move it's eyes ,as > to watch (ing) the visitors, and also can open and close it's (WF) mouth. The Mask is whirring and grimacing to shock visitors. The creator called his project "Mask of Youth". By the way ,the face is not idealised as in the portrait, instead it is presented without flattery.Collishaw's methodical approach and intensive research have ensured an artwork grounded in history.
I've chosen this news because I found (WF)of such things. I always wondered how such animatronics work (WF),_how people manage to make their works LOOK alife > Alive. As for me it looks impressive and absolutely extraordinary(although many people( ),as stated in the article ,felt uncomfortable when they looked at the Queen's face).
I'd like to see this instalation with my own eyes and learn more about it .
Thank you for your attention!
An anazama installation indeed! It'd be great to see it with our own eyes if possible.
