Task 10. Valeria Kazachenko
Hello,
everyone!
During the
last lesson we were reading the text about tourism. As for me, there were some expressions
I couldn't fully understand. Of course, I can't just ignore them.
This dictionary helped me to understand the meanings of these expressions:
To outstrip means: to be or become greater in amount, degree, or success than something or someone.
A supply means: an amount of something that is available for use.
Ex.: The laws of
economics state that when the demand for a commodity begins to
outstrip supply the price will
rise.
To implement means: to start using a plan or system.
Ex.: That successful model could be implemented
in other countries
where kidnapping was common.
To generate means: to cause something to exist.
A revenue means: the income that a government or company receives regularly.
Ex.: The Internet can generate
revenue for everyone.
Hello Lera,
ReplyDeleteYour post is very informative and detailed. It's clear that you wrote it with care to detail. I am glad you liked this dictionary because it can really help you get a better idea about how to use words in some context. However,
the task was also to prepare your own examples. Can you add them to your post?
