A Reflection Note. Valeria Kazachenko

A Reflection Note

This semester is coming to an end and I would like to share some of my impressions related to the activities we did during this time.

First, it is worth noting that the work in this blog seemed strange to me initially but then I found it very convenient and interesting. You always have the opportunity to hand over your works even if you could not visit a lesson, you can see works of your classmates and compare them with yours. It is very interesting to read different points of view on the same topic. Moreover, I want to mention The Guardian, which I did not know earlier. Constant updates and interesting articles on any topic still make me read it periodically.

Next semester I would like to learn more about the rules of writing all sorts of official letters, applications and resumes. I believe that this is really the thing that will be useful in the future.

As for the topics for discussion, I would be interested to talk about cultures, customs and traditions of different countries. For example, about taboos or gestures that can lead to misunderstanding in a particular country.

I hope for the same fruitful work next semester.

thanks for sharing your comments about the first semester's course, which I found useful and informative. I am glad that you found the activities interesting and hope you'll find the seond semester activities useful and interesting as well. Thanks for the suggestions about the topics to discuss. Actually, I find discussing different taboos across cultures very interesting. So, I will suggest your peers and you some of such topics to consider.
