Reflective note_Aleksandra Ushakova

The semester's just come to its end, and it's the best time to express my opinion about this course. First of all, I'd like to say that the course was something rather new for me as I'd never published anything to blog before. Initially, I was even slightly confused because of such a way of sharing my works, but then it became just a part of my weekly routine. Now I can say that I'm accustomed to this platform for sharing all the works I write.

As for the things I found useful, there are some of them. For example, all the things connected with the work in Blogger. As I said, I'm not a blogger at all, so all that things like how to contract link or how to create your own blog were a discover for me. Also, I find the information about the ways of summarizing articles and writing for-and-against essays. Last but no least, the links that I was given are really useful. I mean the links to plagiarism checkers and some dictionaries. However, I really expected to discuss more theory in class as I find it rather useful for better understanding of what we're supposed to write about.

The next semester I'd like to learn how to write essays in more details. Besides, it would be interesting to know how to write motivational letters for the universities abroad or for some internships in Europe or in the USA. As for the themes, I'd like to discuss education, health and global problems. These themes seem to cause many arguments around their discussion, so I think it'd be interesting enough to talk about them.

  1. Hello Sasha,

Thanks for your reflection. It was useful for me to learn about the aspects of the course you found beneficial and useful. Sure during the Spring semester we'll focus more on learning to write essays better. And, of course, we'll devote some time to practising writing some types of letters that you might need to write.
