Task 12 Aleksandra Ushakova
One language spoken would lead to better international relations.
Lingua franca is defined as 'any of various languages used as common or commercial tongues among peoples of diverse speech' in Meriam-Webster dictionary. Nowadays English is the lingua franca for all the people around the world. However, English isn't inly one language spoken worldwide. The question of becoming a language the unique language spoken worldwide is arguable as there are many advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, if people spoke one language equally well, there wouldn't be any problem because of misunderstanding while translating. Moreover, it can change the global policy of many countries.
On the other hand, language brings many specific details to culture. For example, idioms and proverbs. So, people would lose their cultural identity if they spoke only one language.
All in all, this question is arguable, and I think that it isn't necessary to worry about it right now.
