Task 12 Potemkina Ekaterina
What are the advantages and disadvantages of our ever-increasing use of computer technology?
It's no secret that 21st century is a computer age.Nowdays,we can't imagine our life without any technologies (especially without computers ). With the advert of the computer ,human life has become much easier, and ,as a result, we use a computer every year more. However, some people are concerned about our ever-increasing use of computers :are there advantages or disadvantages ?
On the one hand,ever-increasing use of computers has a lot of advantages. For example, computers have greatly simplified the learning process. And it's hard to argue with it. Earlier,if you wanted to find any piece of information you had to search it in books for hours, but now this process has been simplified to a few keystrokes. Nowdays, almost everything can be done with a computer:payment of taxes, ticket reservation ,communication at the distance with people from another city or country. And it is far from whole list. So,it turns out the more we use a computer, the easier our life.
On the other hand, frequent use of computers can lead to a number of negative consequences. First of all,it is problems with health:frequent sitting at computers can lead to visual impairment. Also ,so-called "computer addiction"may appear. In this case ,a person feels confident and happy only with his computer.Nowdays, this is a common problem ,especially among children and teenagers.
In conclusion, everything is good in moderation.Surely ,computers bring many benefits. However,we shouldn't forget that ever-increasing use of computers can lead to unpleasant consequences.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the article, Katya! As for me, the topic is very relevant nowadays and it was interesting for me to read your opinion about it, because I've also chosen this issue to scrutinize. Your essay is logicallly structurized and well-developed, but maybe it would be better to give more examples and supporting information (statistics, quotations, memorable stories). I think that you developed your ideas a little bit unilaterally, especially disadvantages. I'm also not sure about the punctuation marks. Maybe you put it as in Russian, but it is not always correct. I hope that you'll heed my remarks. Otherwise, you did a good job!
ReplyDeleteKsenia, thanks for your comment. I found it rather helpful, and I am sure if Katya revises her work with the help of your comments andf mine, she'll be able to improve it.
