Should the service always be friendly?


We are living in the era of consumption. There are a lot of shops and cafes everywhere. And if you go to any of them, most likely you will be greeted with a wide smile. But are you sure that this smile is sincere?
Because of the crazy competition employers are trying to attract customers in all possible ways. One of them is «the guest is always right» policy. Workers are required to be friendly and inconvenient. Now you can ask «is it so difficult just to be amiable?». And I can say that yes. Just imagine that you have to smile and talk to people for 12 hours every day. In my opinion it is clearly emotional service and it must be forbidden. I am sure that sincere smile is much more pleasant than work smile. And I want to know that if people are smiling at me because they are happy.
Of course I do not say that all service should be gloomy and rude. I want to say that people need to show their real emotions and on the work too. Now the situation became very serious. I can surely say that service workers receive psychological trauma and mental imbalance as a result of constant self deception.
Only mutual understanding can be the solution to this problem. First of all the employers need to accept the fact that humans are not robots. That they sometimes cannot be  extremely happy, what is required from them. And also customers should treat with respect such kind of work. We can be more kind, more polite and the workers would be happy to help you as they can.
