A for and against essay _Can robots replace people ?
We live in the age of technology. Almost
every day there are new wonders of engineering. One of the most amazing
inventions of mankind is robots. Today there are many types of robots: androids,
household robots, combat robots, etc. But scientists do not stop there. Ideally,
robots will be just like humans in the near future. But some are against the
rise of robots to people, fearing (P) that robots can completely displace people. Let's
look at whether artificial intelligence really outshines its сreator.
On the one hand, robots were created to make
people’s life easily (WF). This is their
primary task-to help people, while not causing them any harm. In some areas,
robots are necessary. For example, robots often help scientists explore areas
that are dangerous to human life. Also robots are not useless in the industry where
they do dangerous and difficult work for a human. It turns out that robots not
only make our lives easier(,) but also to some extent save, help to avoid human
casualties.
On the
other hand, many people are concerned that there will be robotization, i.e. the
replacement of people with robots. No wonder this topic is devoted to so many
films**. Some companies are trying to
automate production to the maximum(,) while reducing the number of live workers. They
are pursuing their goal. Robots perform complex production operations 24 hours
a day, the products manufactured by robots are of high quality, robots do not
get sick, do not need a lunch break and rest, robots do not strike, do not
require an increase in wages and pensions, etc. People lose their jobs, are
left without money and have to look for another source of income, and this
sometimes takes a long time. Therefore, it is likely that the general
robotization of production will cause a revolt of the people.
Considering the pros and cons of both
approaches, I can make a conclusion that robots should remain man's helper (WNum), not
his replacement. ART Robot must do work that
for some reason a person can not (Sp) do a person(,) and help if it is necessary. Let’s believe
that robots will not be able to
completely displace man. Machines can't think for themselves, they just follow
a man-made program, unlike the man himself (Word Order).
Hello Katya,
the topic of your essay is really interesting and rich in content. However, I couldn't figure out what source or sources you have used to write it. It is obvious that you have. So, I am not sure whe the references are missing.
**Gr: films are devoted to some topics, not topics
Content: 4: More points should have been considered
Organisation: 4 The thesis statement not specific enough; paragraph by paragraph organisation is more common when discussing the issues that are less sophisticated; to discuss those that are a point-by-point organisation is used.
Mechanics: 4
Language: 4.5 More sophisticated language could be used in the discussion
