Task 2. 'Germans can still feel deeply insecure about the past’… Nora Krug

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first post in my blog!
Today I’d like to share with you one article that impressed me very much.

It’s about one German author and illustrator - Nora Krug.
Nora raised one of the most pressing topics that has made its sad contribution to the history of the 20th century. It’s time of Nazi Germany.

Nora Krug: ‘I would have thought, what’s left to say about Germany’s Nazi past?'

She has wrenched different stories and facts from archives and flea markets for her graphic memoir. She found a lot of interesting unknown information that she used in her work. For instance, she found her uncle’s old school exercise book. There was one essay about fungi. But everything is not that simple.

“When you go to the forest and you see mushrooms that look beautiful, you think that they are good,” the text reads. “But when you eat them, they are poisonous and can kill a whole family.”
“The Jew(еврей) is just like this mushroom.”

It's a little scary to read, right?

I advise you to read this article because it contains a lot of interesting and shocking information about Nazi Germany, about the views and thoughts of people at that time and, moreover, how life in Germany has changed since that period. (here you can find this article:https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/oct/03/nora-krug-germany-nazi-past-heimat-memoir-author-illustrator)

I hope you’ll also be interested to read this in full!

Thank you for your attention! See you soon J
