       Today I have bad news for you. It's connected with Italy and its terrible whether.
   
       Unfortunately, now something strange is happening in Italy. I will tell in brief, you can see more in detail here.
     
      There was a huge amount of rainfall that destroyed entire regions.
Roads were blocked and thousands of people were left without power in southern and central Europe, as rain and violent winds sparked flooding and tore up trees.
      Heavy snow fell in mountainous areas of France and Italy. In Italy, where wind speeds reached 110mph (180km/h) in some areas, civil protection authorities announced a further four deaths, after confirming five people had perished on Monday.  

    And one more news is about Venice. Venice was inundated by near-record flooding, t 
he water level has only topped 150cm five times before in recorded history.

      In general, this is really terrible news. we have a second language Italian and I think everyone is worried now for Italy.
And now some interestind words:
  • trap- ловушка, капкан :  Such families get caught in the poverty trap.
  • to enfulf - поглощать (огнем), затапливать (водой): The house was quickly engulfed in flames.
  • to ensnare- заманивать, обманывать: Spiders ensnare flies and    other insects in their webs.

    Hello Lera,

    What sad and disturbing pieces of news! Whenever I learn about things v like that happening, it fills me with sad feelings first because people have suffered greatly and also because there's not much you can do about it. Pray if you're a believer or think about it if you are not, hoping still that it could help these people to cope with their suffering.

    Thank you too for sharing the words. Are the examples your own or taken from a dictionary or some other source? Do you find this task useful?
